Lodge at the Ancient city


It is easy to imagine you are an African emperor from the era of the Kingdom of Zimbabwe when you enter the Lodge at the Ancient City (S20 15 77 E30 56 86). The Lodge is built to resemble the Great Zimbabwe – the famous World Heritage Site that can easily be seen from the main complex. At night the firelight and soft mbira music create an atmosphere that could well have been taken straight out of a Sir Rider Haggard novel. The décor in the guest accommodation continues with this theme. Definitely a wedding venue with a difference.

Perhaps you would like to return to Botswana after your visit to Great Zimnanbwe. Seven hours drive fromGreat Zimbabwe Monument and the Lodge at the Ancient City is a small community nature reserve. The Khama Rhino Sanctuary offers affordable accommodation within an eco-tourism destination. Khama Rhino Sanctuary is about 8000 hectares in size and hosts rhino and a variety of antelope.

Most Temba clients visit the Kalahari after their visit to Great Zimbabwe Monument and The Lodge at The Ancient City. It will take you about 9 hours by car to get from Senyati Safari Lodge to Ghanzi. At Ghanzi you can book your accommodation Ghanzi accommodation. Four hours from Lodge at the Ancient City, is Botswana's second city, Francistown. Near Francistown is Woodlands self catering. This is the best accommodation for families and people on self-drive holidays near Francistown in Botswana. Woodlands is also known as Woodlands 4x4 but the camp is accessible with any vehicle hired from Temba Car Hire.

Gaborone is the capital city of Botswana and is 9 hours drive with a Temba hired car from The Zimbababe Ruins and the Lodge at the Ancient City. If you are on a self-drive with one of Temba Car Hire vehicles you would most likely want to stay at Mokolodi Lodge Gaborone. Mokolodi Nature Reserve offers self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation with good game viewing just 12 km from Gaborone. If you are on business in Gaborone Cresta Lodge Gaborone will be ideal. Cresta Lodge offers luxury rooms, good meals and secure parking only 2 minutes from the CBD of Gaborone. A cheaper option would be The Big Five The Big Five Lodge 10 minutes from the CBD in Gaborone.
